Being consistent with Doodle food is one of the most important first lessons in raising a healthy Doodle.
Doodles are known to have sensitive tummies. At Old Mill Doodles we talk to our doodle people about the importance of consistency in a doodle diet. Keep it plain and simple for a happy home.
It’s well known that most retrievers have stomachs of steel and will consume anything and everything. A lesser known fact is that poodles have a more sensitive digestive tract, and the doodles typically take after the poodle parent.
Plan to feed your doodle a good quality puppy food, we send the puppies home eating Taste of the Wild High Prairie Puppy Food. We recommend buying one large bag of the same food we use, as it winds down you’re welcome to make a switch to a brand of your preference. Keep the puppy on that food for his first year.Do not buy edible treats, they will cause diarrhea. Instead use pieces of dry puppy food, American cheese, or boiled chicken to reward for good behavior.Remember variety is not your doodle’s friend.
